Delécluse 9

Delécluse 9 is a piece of percussion that was created by Jacques Delécluse in 1963. It is simple, elegant and beautiful.

The Delécluse 9 is played with two mallets, one in each hand. The player must have complete control over the instrument because it is very sensitive to any kind of movement. The player can choose between different sounds and dynamics depending on how hard or soft he strikes it. It has a range from very low to very high pitches.

The instrument is made out of wood (oak or birch), metal (bronze) and rubber tires that are attached with glue to the bottom of the instrument. The rubber tires are used as resonators for the sound produced by striking it with mallets. They also help reduce some sounds which makes certain notes more clear than others when playing softly (low pitch).

I hope you enjoy this beautiful piece of percussion.
